8. Baseball Cards – every eight year old boy in America has some understanding of the value of baseball cards.  While newer cards are largely shunned by investors, there are some classic baseball cards typically from about the turn-of-the-20th century to the 1950’s which have preserved their value and appreciated in recent years.

Many cards are mass produced to the point of having almost no uniqueness or value.

Some of the older cards have value because not only were many fewer cards produced, people didn’t even have the mindset of knowing they should preserve and collect them.  So cards were damaged or thrown away.

Many Americans grow up collecting baseball cards.
